Shanghai Day Tour: Shanghai Tower + Yu Garden + Xintiandi + The Bund
This morning, you will head to the Lujiazui business district in Pudong, Shanghai, to visit the tallest building in Shanghai and China - [Shanghai Tower]. Here, you will take the world's fastest sightseeing elevator (73.8 km/h) directly to the "Top of Shanghai Observatory" on the 118th floor, 546 meters above the ground, and enjoy a 360° unobstructed view of Shanghai's magnificent skyline and panoramic city views, overlooking the famous buildings around. If you are interested, you can also send a special blessing from above the clouds to family and friends at the Top of Shanghai Air Post Office, currently the world's highest post office. Afterward, head to [Yu Garden], known as the "Crown of Famous Gardens in the Southeast," to enjoy the scenery of classical Jiangnan gardens in China. Yu Garden was first built in the 38th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1559 AD), with a history of more than 460 years. It was originally a private garden built by Pan Yunduan, the Ming Dynasty provincial administration commissioner of Sichuan, for his father to spend his later years in comfort. Strolling along the winding paths of Yu Garden, you can admire China's exquisite garden layout, beautiful classical architecture, and superb brick carvings, stone carvings, clay sculptures, and wood carvings. In addition, Yuyuan Mall near Yu Garden is a very lively district where you can taste the most authentic Shanghai cuisine or browse various traditional Chinese handicraft shops. After lunch, head to [Xintiandi] near the former French Concession, hailed as one of the world's top twenty cultural landmarks. This is an urban tourist attraction that perfectly blends Shanghai's traditional shikumen architecture with modern buildings, and it is also an excellent place to learn about Shanghai's history, lane culture, and modern fashion. Here, you can stroll leisurely, admire historical sites, taste specialty foods, and browse various shops representing Shanghai's fashion and tradition. In addition, the Shikumen Wulixiang Museum inside is also a good place to learn about the lifestyle of Shanghai people in the 1920s and 1930s. Then, you can walk along [Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street], known as "China's No. 1 Commercial Street," to the Bund, about 2 kilometers in total. Along the way, you can appreciate Shanghai's architectural style from the 1930s and 1940s and browse various century-old brand stores. Finally, arrive at [the Bund], known as the "Paris of the East," and feel the prosperity of magical Shanghai. The Bund is located on the west bank of the Huangpu River, starting from East Yan'an Road in the south and ending at Waibaidu Bridge in the north, with a total length of about 1.5 kilometers. It is one of Shanghai's landmark attractions and is known as the "Exhibition of World Architecture." It brings together 52 buildings of different foreign styles, such as the Shanghai Club, Peace Hotel, Customs House, and HSBC Building. Stepping into it is like entering the golden age of the former Oriental Wall Street. Standing by the river, you can also gaze at landmark buildings such as the world's third tallest building - Shanghai Tower, Asia's tallest tower - Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Shanghai's fourth tallest building - Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai's second tallest building - Shanghai World Financial Center.

Shanghai to Suzhou by High-Speed Rail Day Trip: Suzhou Garden Museum + Humble Administrator's Garden + Tiger Hill + Pingjiang Road
This morning, our guide will accompany you from Shanghai to Suzhou by high-speed rail (distance about 90 km, travel time about 0.5 hours), and take you on an in-depth tour of this famous historical and cultural city known as "Paradise on Earth." First, you will briefly visit China's first garden-themed museum, the Suzhou Garden Museum. Here you can gain a deeper understanding of the history and culture of Chinese classical gardens, appreciate the essence of Suzhou gardens, and fully experience the gardening art of Suzhou gardens that "creates a universe within a foot." Afterward, you will visit the Humble Administrator's Garden, praised as the "Mother of Chinese Gardens." This is the largest and most famous classical Jiangnan landscape garden in Suzhou, a precious heritage of Chinese garden art, and one of the famous World Cultural Heritage sites, long enjoying the reputation of "the model of all gardens under heaven." The Humble Administrator's Garden was first built in the fourth year of Zhengde of the Ming Dynasty (1509 AD) by Wang Xianchen, a censor who retired to Suzhou after frustration in officialdom, and took 16 years to complete. It is known for its ingenious layout, picturesque scenery, and exquisite architecture and carvings. It is mainly divided into three parts: the east, the middle and the west. The east is dominated by gentle ridges, distant hills, pine forests, lawns, bamboo groves and winding water, with beautiful scenery; the middle is the essence of the Humble Administrator's Garden, centered on water, with broad ponds and lush trees and natural scenery; the west has a curved-foot-shaped pond, with terraces and halls standing opposite each other, undulating corridors, reflections in the water, and very ornate and exquisite decoration, offering a distinctive charm. Strolling through it feels like traveling back to Jiangnan in the Ming and Qing dynasties, with scenery at every step, and every brick, tile, plant and tree revealing refinement and elegance. In addition, the Orchid Snow Hall, named after Li Bai's line "Standing alone between heaven and earth, clear wind scatters orchid snow"; the Fragrant Isle Hall, named after Zhou Dunyi's line in On the Love of the Lotus, "Its fragrance is more pure from afar, standing upright and clean"; and the Mountain Viewing Tower, named after Tao Yuanming's line "Picking chrysanthemums by the eastern fence, leisurely I see the southern mountains," are among the must-see sights in the Humble Administrator's Garden and deserve careful appreciation. Tips for appreciating and photographing Suzhou gardens 1. To better appreciate the scenery of Suzhou gardens, it is recommended to learn about the history and culture of Suzhou gardens in advance, or listen to on-site explanations, so that you can more deeply understand the design concepts and landscaping art of Chinese gardens and the little-known stories behind them. 2. If you want clearer photos of the beauty of Suzhou gardens, it is recommended to go on a sunny morning; if you want to capture the unique charm of misty and rainy Jiangnan, it is recommended to go on a rainy day. In addition, Suzhou gardens have different charms in spring, summer, autumn and winter, and you can choose the best season according to the scenery you prefer. 3. If you want more photogenic pictures, it is recommended to wear hanfu, qipao or new Chinese-style clothing, find a scenery you like, and take beautiful classical photos. After lunch, you will visit Tiger Hill, praised as "the finest scenery in Wuzhong." This is one of Suzhou's landmark attractions and has witnessed the historical changes of the ancient city of Suzhou. Strolling through it, you can enjoy magnificent natural scenery and cultural landscapes and feel the unique charm of the "three wonders and nine suitability." Tiger Hill Pagoda and Sword Pool are must-see attractions at Tiger Hill. Among them, Tiger Hill Pagoda is one of the oldest existing brick pagodas in China, the only surviving Five Dynasties building, and the world's second leaning tower, praised as the "Leaning Tower of Pisa of the East," with exquisite brick carvings and majestic architecture; Sword Pool is very mysterious and is said to be the place where King Fuchai of Wu in the Spring and Autumn period buried his father Helü, with three thousand precious swords buried as funerary objects, hence the name Sword Pool. Afterward, you may take a leisurely stroll along Pingjiang Road. This historical district, built according to the ancient layout in the Pingjiang Map, is like a living map of the Song Dynasty: cobblestone alleys run parallel to the Pingjiang River, and the charm of old Suzhou flows among white walls and black tiles. You can walk along the bluestone paths, listen to a piece of soft Suzhou pingtan, or taste authentic Suzhou snacks such as crab shell yellow and sugar porridge. If interested, you can choose a 30-40 minute traditional boat ride (optional at your own expense), slowly traveling along the Pingjiang River, immersively experiencing the mood of "homes all pillowed by the river" and feeling the leisurely slow water-town life that has continued for centuries. After the tour, this wonderful and unforgettable 2-day Shanghai and Suzhou journey will come to an end. Our driver will take you to Suzhou Railway Station to take the high-speed rail back to Shanghai (travel time about 30 minutes). If you want to extend this trip and explore more destinations in China, such as Hangzhou, Shanghai, Huangshan, Beijing, Harbin, Yunnan, Xi'an, Zhangjiajie, Chengdu, Tibet, Guilin, Xinjiang and more, you can also contact our customer service to arrange it for you.
