Saga - Peiku Tso - Everest Base Camp - Basong Village
This morning you will set off from Saga to visit the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. Along the way, you will pass a beautiful plateau lake, Peiku Co. [Peiku Co] is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with deep blue water. When the weather is good, the blue sky, white clouds, and towering snow mountains are reflected in the lake, like a huge gourd-shaped treasure mirror. If you are lucky, you may also encounter small animals such as kiangs coming to forage and drink.
After a brief stop, you will continue toward Mount Everest, accompanied all the way by magnificent plateau scenery such as snow mountains, grasslands, and wildlife. Then enter the Mount Everest Scenic Area, crossing the 5,210-meter [Gawu La Pass], where you can see the spectacular sight of four snow mountains over 8,000 meters arranged in a row. From left to right, these four snow mountains are: Makalu (8,463 m); Lhotse (8,516 m); Mount Everest (8,848 m); and Cho Oyu (8,201 m).
Afterward, you will continue to Everest Base Camp. [Everest Base Camp] is one of the best places to view and photograph Mount Everest. At dusk, as night gradually shrouds the mountains, only the summit of Mount Everest shines in the sunset like the golden crown of a goddess in the sky, allowing you to enjoy the glory of standing at the top of the world. In addition, at Everest Base Camp there is the world's highest tent post office, where you can send a postcard or a letter to family and friends, which is especially meaningful. Then leave at an appropriate time to stay at a guesthouse in Basong Village below Everest Base Camp.
