Pickup at Lhasa Railway Station or Airport
Welcome to Lhasa, the holy city of the snowy plateau (altitude 3,650 meters). Our driver will meet you outside Lhasa Railway Station (Airport) and take you to your hotel for check-in. After checking in that day, it is recommended not to wash your hair or take a shower, reduce activity, slow everything down, and relax so you can adapt to the plateau environment as quickly as possible. Lhasa Railway Station is located in the suburbs of Lhasa, about 8 kilometers from the Potala Palace. The route crosses the Lhasa River, and from the vehicle you can enjoy the scenery on both banks of the Lhasa River. Lhasa Airport is located in Gonggar County, Shannan City, about 60 kilometers from downtown Lhasa. The drive takes about 1 hour, and along the way you can enjoy distinctive Tibetan villages and pastoral scenery.

Lhasa - Mira Mountain Tunnel - Sejila Pass - Lulang - Nyingchi
Today you will depart from Lhasa for Nyingchi. Along the way, you will pass through the 【Mila Mountain Tunnel】. Mila Mountain is the boundary mountain between Lhasa and Nyingchi (Central Tibet and Eastern Tibet). The Mila Pass sits at an altitude of 5,013 meters, where snow falls year-round. The Mila Mountain Tunnel running through this mountain began operation in 2019. It is the world's highest-altitude extra-long highway tunnel and a beautiful sight along the Lhasa-Nyingchi Expressway. Afterwards, you will cross the Sejila Pass at an altitude of 4,702 meters, where you can gaze at Namcha Barwa, crowned the most beautiful of China's top ten famous mountains, and also ring a bell to pray for blessings. Afterwards, you will continue onward and arrive at Lulang, where you can experience 【Tibetan horseback riding and Gongbo responsive arrow shooting】. Under the blue sky and white clouds, with green grass like a carpet and wildflowers everywhere, horses play leisurely by the stream, while yaks sway their massive bodies and keep company with the green grass. You can ride a plateau steed and gallop freely, or experience the distinctive folk custom of the Gongbo people by shooting responsive arrows. Finally, you will return to Nyingchi, where dinner will feature a local Nyingchi specialty - Lulang stone pot chicken. Stone pot chicken is Lulang's signature and hallmark dish, and it is very famous. The stone pot used to cook Lulang stone pot chicken is carved by locals from a single block of stone. The dish uses local free-range chicken, added with some Tibetan medicine and hand ginseng, and the flavor is extremely delicious.

Nyingchi - Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon - Yani Wetland Park - Nyingchi
Today you will explore the Nyingchi area. First, visit the Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon. The Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon is the deepest canyon on Earth, hailed as "humanity's last secret realm." You can follow the scenic shuttle to see the Daduka ancient fortress ruins and marvel at the magical power of love at "Qing Bi Shi Jian" (Love Stronger Than Stone). Here you can close your eyes, press your palms together, make a wish, or place a small mani stone as a prayer. Or listen to the roaring symphony of the Yarlung Tsangpo Canyon at the water platform, and take in the magnificent views of villages on both sides of the canyon from the viewing platform. Afterwards, you will visit Yani Wetland Park. Yani Wetland Park (formerly Benri Sacred Mountain Scenic Area) is a sacred mountain of Tibet's native Bon religion. It is one of the important sacred mountains worshipped by Bon followers, who entrust all their hopes—happiness in this life and liberation in the next—to Mount Benri. To eliminate sins and various illnesses, they circumambulate the mountain on schedule every year. In addition, Yani Wetland Park is the confluence of the Yarlung Tsangpo River and the Nyang River. Only nature's deft hand could create such a wonder: the elegant trickle of the Nyang River is swept along by the surging Yarlung Tsangpo into the Indian Ocean, with the boundary line at the confluence clearly visible. After visiting, you will return to Nyingchi.

Nyingchi-Kadinggou Waterfall-Gongbo Ethnic Village-Lhasa
Today you will depart from Nyingchi by car, heading north along the Lhasa-Nyingchi Expressway, Tibet's "most beautiful sky road." Along the way, you will visit Kating Gully. 【Kating Gully】is a superb scenic spot in Nyingchi's forest canyons. On both sides of the canyon, towering cliffs and steep precipices rise and fall in layered ridges, with fantastic peaks, bizarre rocks, and ancient towering trees. Wildflowers fill the valley with fragrance, and the natural oxygen bar offers fresh air. A waterfall with a drop of over 200 meters plunges from the sky, an awe-inspiring sight. On the cliffs, natural formations resemble a great Buddha, a goddess, Guanyin, a Dharma protector, Tathagata Buddha, lamas chanting scriptures, a divine turtle calling to the sky, a divine eagle offering treasure, butter lamps, and the Tibetan "Six-Character Mantra" Buddhist characters, among other wonders. The most magical of all is a great Buddha naturally formed in the waterfall's water that appears and disappears—hence the name Kating Gully Heavenly Buddha Waterfall. After visiting Kating Gully, you will visit 【Gongbo Characteristic Village】. Tibetan-style houses are scattered in picturesque disorder, and the small Tibetan courtyards are filled with the fragrance of flowers. The village, together with the green mountains and clear waters, blue sky and white clouds, forms a delightful watercolor painting. Here you can listen to Tibetan family stories, enjoy Tibetan dance, view houses with distinctive Tibetan features, and experience the local customs. Afterwards, you will return to the "City of Sunlight," Lhasa.

Lhasa-Yarlung Tsangpo River Scenery-Yamdrok Lake-Holy Lake Photo Shoot-Lhasa
Today you will visit Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet's three great sacred lakes. On the way to Yamdrok Lake, you will cross the 4,600-meter Gambala Pass, where you can gaze at the Gambala Radar Station in the distance; this is also the best viewing position for the panoramic view of Yamdrok Lake. Then continue onward to visit the world's highest freshwater lake, Yamdrok Lake. [Yamdrok Lake], abbreviated as Yamdrok, means "Swan Lake" in Tibetan. Its surface is at an altitude of 4,441 meters, and its beauty is unmatched in southern Tibet. The clear lake water, towering snow mountains, and washed-blue sky merge into one, and the picturesque scenery makes people linger. While enjoying the beautiful scenery of Yamdrok Lake, you can also experience a sacred-lake photo shoot, recording the beauty and happiness of this moment, capturing exquisite instants, so that when you look back years later, happiness will still surge in your heart. This is the meaning of a Yamdrok Lake photo shoot.

Lhasa-Potala Palace-Chakpori-Zongjiao Lukang Park-Jokhang Temple Square-Lhasa
Today you will tour within Lhasa and visit the world's highest ancient palace-fortress architectural complex, the 【Potala Palace】. Climb up along the long staircase step by step, overlooking Lhasa as you go, taking in the grandeur of the city at a glance. While taking photos as souvenirs and resting along the way, you will then enter the Potala Palace to explore this mysterious and ancient palace for which very few images are shown online. Afterwards, you can go to the kora circuit in 【Zongjiao Lukang Park】 to experience prayer-wheel spinning. In Zongjiao Lukang Park, devotees coming to spin prayer wheels can be seen everywhere, gently shaking the prayer wheels in their hands, sliding the shiny prayer beads in their hands, and murmuring prayers. You can also go to the 【Chakpori Hill】 viewing platform to photograph the Potala Palace. Chakpori Hill stands right opposite the Potala Palace and is the best location for photographing the Potala Palace, especially at the mountainside. This is also the site featured on the 50-yuan renminbi note. Afterwards, you will visit the 【Site of the Qing Dynasty Amban's Office】. The traditional Tibetan-style compound where the exhibition hall is located is called "Chongsaikang Zhakang", a three-story Tibetan-style building complex located on the north street of Barkhor Street in the ancient city of Lhasa, in the central area of Lhasa's old town, with a history of more than 300 years. The Qing government once established the first Amban office here, for the Amban to work and reside. Because the Amban could enjoy the bustling scene of Barkhor Street up close from the windows of the south building of the compound, this place was called "Chongsaikang", meaning "the house from which the market can be seen". Afterwards, you will arrive at Jokhang Temple Square. 【Jokhang Temple Square】 is the final destination of pilgrimage for many devotees. For hundreds of years, devotees have come here from far away, taking three steps and one prostration, measuring the distance from their hometown to here with their bodies. Jokhang Temple Square is shrouded in incense smoke all day long, and devout worshippers have left deep imprints of full-body prostrations. Regarding faith, this place will give you the most perfect explanation. If one day you lose yourself, please come sit and look around Jokhang Temple Square; regarding faith, it will give you the answer... The temple on the square is the central temple of Tibetan Buddhism - Jokhang Temple (you may purchase admission to enter and visit according to your own circumstances, at your own expense).

Lhasa-Namtso-Lhasa
In the early morning, you will drive across the Northern Tibet Grassland, with colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind along the way. Then you will speed along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, cross the 5,190-meter Nagela Pass, and arrive at Namtso, the "Heavenly Lake," first among Tibet's three great sacred lakes. Namtso sits at 4,718 meters, the world's highest large lake and China's second-largest saltwater lake. To its south lies the year-round snow-capped Nyainqentanglha Mountains; to its north and west are plateau hills. The vast lakeshore is surrounded by grasslands with lush water and grass. The lake water has high salinity, and the basin is rich in wildlife including yaks and goats. The lake teems with wildfowl and produces scale fish and scaleless fish. The clear lake water reflects the surrounding snow mountains, creating beautiful scenery. Namtso is like a sparkling pearl set upon the vast Changtang grasslands. After the visit, return to Lhasa by the same route. Tip: The drive today is long and tiring, requiring an early start. The Northern Tibet region is at high altitude, so please bring a thick coat, apply sunscreen, and bring sunglasses and a hat.
