Lhasa - Zhaji Temple - Nyingchi Basum Tso
In the morning, visit Zhaji Temple, the only temple of wealth in Tibet. [Zhaji Temple] is small, but its incense offerings are especially flourishing, and many tourists come here specifically to pray for prosperity. Legend has it that the wealth deity Zaki Lhamo enshrined in Zhaji Temple loves drinking alcohol, so people often use offering wine and incense as items of worship.
After visiting Zhaji Temple, you will travel east along China's most beautiful expressway, the [Lhasa-Nyingchi Expressway], to Nyingchi, known as the Jiangnan of Tibet. This afternoon, you will mainly visit Nyingchi's most famous attraction, [Basum Co]. Basum Co is the only natural 5A-level scenic area in Tibet and is known as the "Little Switzerland" of Nyingchi. The scenic area combines snow mountains, lakes, forests, waterfall pastures, cultural relics and historic sites, and famous ancient temples. Its scenery is distinctive and varies with the four seasons, and it gathers many rare wild plants, truly a paradise on earth. After arriving at Basum Co, you need to take the scenic area shuttle to the core scenic area of Basum Co, the Island in the Lake. Legend says this island is a "hollow island," meaning the island is not connected to the lake bottom but floats on the water. On the island there is also the Tang Dynasty building "Cuozong Gongba Temple," a famous temple of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. After visiting the Island in the Lake, you can take the shuttle to Dagila Viewing Platform. This requires hiking; step by step along the clean stairs, slowly climb to the top, where you can overlook the panoramic view of Basum Co. In the evening, stay at a hotel or guesthouse in the Basum Co scenic area.
